"Daddy Cool"   Our daughter Claire, first coined  ' Daddy Cool',  regarding her Dad (me),  in her youth and over time nicknames  and pet names become permanent , rather like my wife Rosemary being called " Roma " by workmates when she was still  Rosemary MacDougall and  coincidently, in Scottish Gaelic, 'Roma' sounds like 'ro math!' , meaning very good...   My parents would be delighted!  πŸ’• Sometimes Bilingualism is more useful than at other times... "Co-ghineadh" is Scottish Gaelic for the following: 1. copulation, mating Although this is free information, please think twice before you further share; as I'm now only semi-bilingual and my parents' opinio...

Scotland's Royalty recognised Scotland's people to be sovereign!

"Colonialism is always a cooperative venture" (as Frantz Fanon reminds us) Frantz Fanon: existentialist philosopher I've never really felt that Scotland was London's colony, but have sarcastically said:" We could choose to behave as if we are London's colony or resume Scotland's independence!  "There's NO room for  expressing dry, mocking, humour while existing in today's political circumstances... If Scotland's electorate isn't free to question our elected representatives, then we might as well be living in a dictatorship?! I'm happy to have grown within a family that loved reading a wide range of books and being free to contemplate much of life's challenges without surrendering our openness and free will! I feel that this is an absolutely fantastic result of our upbringing - hopefully, like today's youngsters?  Keira is the youngest of our grandchildren and is already in love with the arts and in particular her Bale...

Dylan's youngster years ~

Image
'Etive Walks', and other  photos... This photograph was taken shortly after our youngster Dylan created this Artwork... Will elder Mr. Dylan MacDonald be pleased about this particular exhibition ⁉️  🀨   ~ happy times remembered!  😍 (Sunday, March 30, 2008, at 10:25 pm) Dylan's  a tall, calm and self-assured man and certainly not an excitable person. Although we've seldom had chances to spend much time together, I re  re-recognised his quiet and determined calmness; this element of character is an invaluable and his beloved partner and their little sonle trait and one which any future employer would greatly value! Dylan lives in Scotland's Perth, where the rest of our family are bound to be regular visitors in future; especially his Mother and sister Claire.  πŸ’“

Homeshop/ Workshop

Towerdrill's Base-unit...  Today's main task involved the forming of a suitable storage area for my Router and its 'Bits' etc.  In my youth, I'd worked as an apprentice in a reputable Home Furnishing business in Oban - at the time when everything was going Metric, and we were needing to use both 'Metric' and Imperial systems during the transition period, which felt fine, thanks to my age's schooling; however, my Boss was much older than me, and shortly afterwards my about-to-be workmate, was nine years older than me... nowadays I'm a retired man, and I  fondly remember being the youngster in that team! πŸ™‚ That particular employment was really pleasurable and wonderfully informative - I'm always grateful for what I'd learned, including the processes involved in repairing and restoring classical furniture; also the numerous elements during a mixture of inter-trade jobs that we became involved with... thank goodness for the opportunity, th...
